Eric Upashantha
Kalutarage Eric Amila Upashantha, known as Eric Upashantha, born on June 10, 1972, is a former Sri Lankan cricketer. He played two Test matches and 12 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Sri Lanka. Educated at Maliyadeva College, Kurunegala, Upashantha is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. Known for his line and length, he made his ODI debut in the 1995-1996 season and his Test debut in the 1999 Asian Test Championship against India. He participated in the 1999 Cricket World Cup and the Pepsi Cup.
Upashantha played Twenty20 cricket for Colts Cricket Club in the 2004 SLC Twenty20 Tournament. Throughout his career, he was often the second choice for his position, playing sporadically for Sri Lanka since 2000, usually as a backup to Chaminda Vaas and Dilhara Fernando.
